It is Time to Celebrate Chinese New Year in Singapore

Just over with the joy of celebrating Christman followed by New year fun, its already time to celebrate Chinese New Year in Singapore. This Year is dedicated to EARTH PIG. Lights, colors, and lucky charm, the city had turned red and emerged in the joy of celebrating yet another festival.



Still not over with the dose of fun that Singapore had during Christmas and New Year celebrations, its time for another much-awaited festival of Chinese New Year, officially will be held on 5th of February 2019. Christmas is just over, kids are still talking about their meeting with Santa Claus and how they saw different trick and met their superheroes in Orchard Road during Christmas. The theme of Disney attracted the young and the old. there was loads of fun, activities, and enjoyment during Christmas.

 The fun was still not over as the New Year eve was around. The whole of Singapore gathered at Marina Bay Sands to witness the spectacular festival of lights. The sky was painted with fireworks and so was Singapore. The rainy weather could not take an upper hand on the enthusiasm of people. Everyone irrespective of their religion, cast and creed joined together to feel the starting of the new year 2019.
With the arrival of January, it is time to start preparing for Chinese New Year. The streets are decked up, the shops have turned red and golden, the malls are all set and the glee could be seen on the eyes of Singaporeans.

Singapore treats all its pupil equally, it never turns down any joy of celebration, be it Chinese New Year, Diwali, Hari Raya or Christmas. Singapore is home for all. From small shops in the hawker centers to the lavish malls, Singapore has been groomed with Cherry blossoms, lights, and Chinese good luck charms.


Oranges have started showing in the market. Large pots of orange trees with blooming flowers are all set for the celebration. The trees are decorated with lucky charms and will be installed in very shops, markets, households, and establishments. These orange trees bearing fruits brings good luck and good health to all mankind.

School holidays have come to an end and kids are excited about their promotion to a new session. New friends, new teachers, lots of fun and of course preparation of Chinese New Year. Our kids are taught racial harmony and they celebrate every occasion without discrimination, and the fun is the same for Christmas, Hari Raya, Diwali or Chinese New Year. They are raised in the path of mutual respect and Harmony.



On the other hand, the confectionery shops are stacked with snacks, sweets and other Chinese delicacies. Many stalls at the hawker centers are selling Chinese good luck items. The gold shops have come up with ornaments with this year's theme design. The malls are groomed with the installation of lights, Chinese decorations, and Cherry Blossoms. The city has turned pink, golden and of course red. This year it's the year for Earth Pig. Every shop is selling souvenirs related to their lucky animal of the year.


 Special mention of China Town is unavoidable during this festival. China Town has totally submerged in color red. Everywhere and anywhere your eyes go, you will witness the gorgeous appearance of the festival. Though some may have little knowledge about Chinese festivals as there are people from around the world, you cannot refrain from getting emerged in the joy of festivity.
