All you need to Know before visiting Universal Studios in Singapore
Universal Studios in Singapore is one of the top-rated tourist destinations in Singapore. it is located at the Santosa island. It offers rides and excitements for all age group. The amusement park is decorated with different movies themes which were shot under Universal Studios. Here we will know how to prepare for visiting Universal Studios when you are accompanied by kids. We will also look into what it has to offer for kids and will take a look into other details.
Reaching the Place
It is located in an island called Santosa Island which is connected to Singapore main island with monorail, roadways, and boardwalk. The nearest MRT station is Harbour Front which will take you to one of the largest malls in Singapore, VIVO City Mall.
Santosa Express- Colourful monorail run between VIVI City and Santosa which is an exciting journey as the monorail passes from above the sea and connects the two lands. take a ride of the monorail which halts in 4 different stations and the first station is the nearest to Universal Studios. The tickets cost SGD 4 which allows travel for the whole day.
Roadways-Santosa Island is well connected with the road from the main island. In case you are opting a cab then you can directly drive to Santosa Island.
Boardwalk- Nearly 1-kilometer walking trail along the Seaside, which offers a picturesque view of the surroundings. Greenish-blue water with bars and restaurants alongside and bridges clad with pink flowers are breathtaking. You can reach Santosa free of cost if you choose to walk. This wooden walking trail is fully covered and thus you can avoid rain and sun.
If you are traveling with kids, then its preferable to take a monorail as a lot of energy needs to be saved for enjoying at the park.
Tickets and Passes- The most important thing to enter the park. You may carry a season Pass or buy a ticket online or from the ticket counters in front of Universal Studios.
Carry a Pram if Necessary- If your kid is young or gets tired more often then you may opt to bring along a pram with you. there are parking spaces available all along the amusement park where you can easily park your pram.
If you don't have a pram, no worries. You may rent one from the entrance of the park. even people with disabilities or who have trouble walking may rent a vehicle for themselves.
Food for Kids and Family- The park offers many restaurants which are made according to each attraction but it is always advisable to carry food for kids from home. As you need to spend the whole day or minimum of 4 to 6 hours exploring the place, pack sufficient food for your little one.
You may also include some small snacks and biscuits to munch on for the whole trip.
Restaurants and outlets are available all through the park but the price is unexpectedly high.
Umbrella and Raincoat- Singapore mostly see rain or extreme sunny weather. While the park is an open space, I personally suggest you carry an umbrella, sunglasses, and caps, especially for kids as the heat can be extreme at times. Also, don't forget to take sunscreen along with you.
Apart from this raincoat is required for rides like the Jurrasic park ride where you will get drenched completely. If you don't bring a raincoat from home then you may have to buy it from there which will cost you SGD 5.
Water- Bring along a small bottle of water. there are points to fill bottles everywhere in the park. I suggested a small bottle(500ml) here as these are appropriate to refill at the available water points. Do not take the pain of carrying much water from home as that will not serve you any purpose.
Baggage- Please make sure that you carry only the necessary things. Don't overload your luggage as it will be hectic to carry everything all day long. It is also advisable not to carry anything expensive or fragile during the visit as many times you may have to keep your belongings out or in lockers before going for a ride.
Extra Set of Clothes- Bring along 2 extra pair of clothes including socks for your kids. carry sufficient tissue paper and a towel. As the climate is hot, you frequently may need to change Kid's outfit. Some rides can also make you wet where you may need to change clothes.
Comfortable Outfit and Shoes- It is very important to wear a comfortable outfit by keeping in mind the climatic condition of Singapore. Try to wear choose clothes and choose a material that dries easily. Try to wear closed shoes or else you need to open them for many rides.
