How to make hand sanitizer at home- DIY Travel Essential

Make your hand sanitizer with only two ingredients. Easy Hand Sanitizer DIY

With the outburst of Novel Coronavirus, most medical shops are running out of hand sanitizers. If you approach an online store, they are selling hand sanitizers in a sky-high rate. So why not give it a try to make at home?

This travel essential is a handy hygiene device which helps us in many ways, especially with kids. Our DIY hand sanitizer is a quick recipe with only two ingredients which are easily available in the market.

Ingredients:

  • Doctor’s rubbing alcohol
  • Aloe Vera gel

Note: You can buy a doctor’s rubbing alcohol and Aloe Vera gel from your nearest drug store. If you want to use Aloe Vera plant extracts directly, then it should be avoided as natural Aloe Vera may feel sticky and leave stains behind. In case you don’t get Aloe Vera gel, substitute it with glycerin.

Tools:
  • A sterilized bottle for storage
  • Wooden spatula
  • A funnel for pouring the mixture
  • A spoon

Method:

Take a measuring spoon and carefully pour two parts of the doctor’s rubbing alcohol and one part of Aloe Vera gel into the bottle with the help of a funnel. For example, if you are taking 6 parts of rubbing alcohol, then you must take 3 parts of Aloe Vera gel.

First, pour the Aloe Vera gel and then the rubbing alcohol. This is because rubbing alcohol tends to evaporate faster. It is better not to touch the ingredients to avoid contamination.

Carefully slide the gel into the bottle and if required push it with the wooden spatula.
Chose the lid and slowly roll the bottle in between your palm and let the two ingredients mix. And Walla! Your DIY hand sanitizer is ready to use.

Use a flip open bottle to make it convenient for use. Also, make sure to use rubbing alcohol, which has an alcohol concentration of at least 60%. This might need a little research, but all worth it.
You will be proud of your creation as its simple, easy and useful. Also, save a lot of money which you always spend on buying sanitizers.

Please write back if this DIY is a useful hack for you.
